Get up Extra Early!

Posted by Annie on Jul 5, 2009 in Activity |

Geeky homeschoolers and students of numerology may be find this tidbit facinating.

At 5 minutes and 6 seconds after 4 a.m. on the 8th of July, this year,
the time and date will be: 04:05:06 07-08-09.

Next year, the numbers will line up a little later in day, for those wanting to observe the anomaly without having to get up before dawn. Next year it will be 05:06:07 08-09-10. So, feel free to sleep in this year, unless your an early bird.

In fact, for the next six-years, we will have an opportunity to observe this strange occurance.

Unless of course, you follow the ISO8601 standard, which orders the values in descending order, which would more appropriately require you to wait until August 7th for 2009-08-07 06:05:04.321.The biggest issue is that since we're in the third millenium AD (2001+), the first two digits are a bit of an eyesore and break the groove. 🙁
